About 'Aiwi Waffles

It all started with “waffle-nights at mom’s house” - I’d invite my son and daughter over for night time feasts of mochi waffles, whipped cream, and fresh fruit. I had developed a mochi waffle recipe to accommodate my son’s request for a gluten free, dairy free treat (we had all developed these food sensitivities as adults). Friends and family tried the waffles, raved about them, and said that I should sell them; I had a lot of encouragement. For several years it was just an idea, then during the pandemic I told my daughter that I wanted to sell them at farmers markets, but that I couldn’t do it alone!

With my daughter by my side, we brought our waffles to the Farmlovers Farmers Market on O‘ahu, setting up in both Kaka‘ako and Kailua. What began as a small family project quickly grew into something bigger, thanks to the love and support of our community. Today, our business is still family run, rooted in care, and built on the simple joy of creating food that brings people together.
